Wilbert L. Gaus 1957-2012

WARREN - Wilbert L. Gaus, 55, of High Street, was called home to be forever with his parents and grandparents on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at his residence.

Will was born April 3, 1957, in Youngstown, the son of Wilbert E. and Ruth L. Welk Gaus.

He was a 1975 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and had been employed by the Elm Road Giant Eagle.

Will enjoyed many things in life, but especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He loved to watch and read science fiction movies and books, with "Star Trek" being his favorite. When he was not reading, he would watch one of his many DVDs that he collected. He also enjoyed spending time with his two cats.

Wilbert was a beloved brother, husband and stepfather and was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Gale, whom he married Sept. 21, 2001; two brothers, Dale Gaus of Warren and Bruce Gaus of Howland; a stepbrother, Edward Gaus of Cumberland, Md.; a stepdaughter, Shannon Byer of Madison; a stepson, Jamie Carson of Warren; two grandchildren, Jayna Rose Carson of Madison and Tyler Klinger of Niles; one niece, Meganne Rovnyak of Austintown; and a nephew, Shawn Rovnyak of Masury.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
