LINCOLN PARK, Mich. - Thespina "Dorothy-Thes" Papalas, 88, formerly of Warren, passed away at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Oakwood South Shore Medical Center.
She was born March 20, 1924, in Warren, the daughter of Chris and Callipe Charnas.
Thespina was a 1942 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and a graduate of Warren Business College with an associate's degree. She retired from Cox Lithograph and Falls Printing as the office manager after 40 years.

Thespina was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 50 years and treasurer of St. Demetrios Sunday School, the Church Senior Citizens, Yasou Club and the Pan Icarian Society.
Survivors include her stepchildren, Steve (Debbie) Papalas of Rockwood, Mich., John Papalas of Lincoln Park, Mich., and Marilyn A. (Dr. Gregory) Balog of Trenton, Mich.; her brothers, Dr. Gus (Laura) Charnas and Steve (Maureen) Charnas, both of Warren, and Aristithis "Archie" (Stella) Charnas of Howland; three stepgrandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alex Papalas, whom she married Nov. 4, 1995, and who passed away in August 2012.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a Trisagion service at 5 p.m., and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
