Singers from around the area will come together for this year's performances of Handel's "Messiah" at Blessed Sacrament Church.
The Warren Civic Chorus meets weekly beginning in the fall to prepare.
Daniel Grimminger is in his second year leading chorus and succeeds John Kurtz, who had led the performances since 1973.
The chorus will be accompanied by members of the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra and joined by four soloists.
Leonard Suzelis, tenor, has been a soloist for the annual "Messiah" performances since 1982. He is a Youngstown State University graduate and is band director and middle school choral director at Southeast Middle School.
Max Pivik, baritone, is making his first appearance with the Warren Civic Chorus. He currently serves as director of education and outreach for Opera Western Reserve.
Corinne Morini, soprano, was a professor of voice for seven years at YSU and has performed with the Pittsburgh Opera.
Karen Emmett, alto, is an active soloist and recitalist in the Shenango Valley area. She is a vocal music teacher and coordinator of the gifted and talented programs at West Middlesex junior and senior high schools.
"Messiah" will be performed at 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road N.E., Warren. A free will offering will be collected to offset the cost of the performances.
