PITTSBURGH -- University of Pittsburgh junior swingman Trey Zeigler is facing DUI charges stemming from an incident over the weekend.
Pittsburgh police charged Zeigler, whose legal name is Ernest Zeigler III, with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence on Sunday.
Court records don't list an attorney for Zeigler. Emails to Zeigler and an athletic department spokesman were not immediately returned this morning.
Zeigler was not arrested and instead charged by summons. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 5.
Zeigler has averaged 6.2 points for the Panthers this season after transferring from Central Michigan. Zeigler transferred to Pitt after his father was fired as Central Michigan's coach.
