GIRARD - Velma Thorne, 95, died Saturday morning, Nov. 17, 2012, at Victoria House.
She was born Jan. 12, 1917, in Girard, a daughter of Charles and Lylia O'Shaughnessy Zimmer.
Velma retired from Wean Industries, where she was a secretary to the plant manager. She was a member of St. Rose Church.
Survivors include a sister, Kathryn Rice of Girard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thorne; a brother; and four sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at McClurkin Funeral Home, where there will be services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose Church.
