LEAVITTSBURG - Four people were transported in a line of ambulances from a house fire the erupted late Thursday evening temporarily trapping one of the victims.

Firefighters were combing the inside of the two-story home at 541 N. Leavitt Road shortly after being called to the scene about 10:45 p.m.

Three victims were outside the home when firefighters arrived on scene.

"Four people were inside the house when the fire started, three got out, and one didn't," fire Chief Ken Schick said at the scene. "We made entry, found him and got him out."

Conditions of the victims were not available late Thursday, but fire officials were heading to Trumbull Memorial Hospital after the fire was knocked down about 11:30 p.m.

The other three occupants were also transported to Trumbull Memorial Hospital with possible smoke inhalation, according to Schick.

Original calls reported a working structure fire with possible entrapment of the person who made the call of the fire.

Firefighters crawled on the roof and entering the home despite smoke pouring from the windows of the light-colored structure. Outside the house neighbors were gathered to watch the spectacle that included the beams of firefighters' flashlights cutting through the smoke inside the structure.

Fire officials were calling for the state fire Marshal's help in investigating the blaze. No other information on the cause or damage estimates were immediately available.

Crews from Warren Township, Champion, Braceville and Warren city were at the scene along with ambulances.
