Cheese truck turns over near bypass

SOUTHINGTON - The on-ramp to state Route 5-82 eastbound from Parkman Road eastbound was closed for several hours Thursday as crews cleaned up after a truck carrying 40,000 pounds of cheese overturned, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said.

According to reports, a Middlefield Cheese truck rolled over after taking the ramp too sharply.

The driver has been taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, the state patrol reported. His identity and condition were not immediately available.

No one injured in rollover accident

CHAMPION - A two-vehicle accident tied up traffic for about an hour Thursday evening, but no injuries were reported.

Champion Fire Department responded to a call about 6:14 p.m. on the 4000 block of Mahoning Avenue N.W. in front of Family Pet Center.

Responders found a flipped Ford Ranger pickup truck at the scene. A Dodge Durango also was involved in the accident. Both drivers, the only occupants, refused medical treatment. The vehicles were traveling south bound at the time of the accident, according to reports.
