By ANDY GRAY Tribune Chronicle , Tribune Chronicle | TribToday.com

New this week on DVD:

"Brave" - Pixar's latest effort is its first film led by a female character. Set in the Scottish Highlands, it tells the story of an adventurous young woman named Merida who defies her village's age-old custom, unleashes chaos and must learn the true meaning of bravery. Kelly Macdonald provides the voice for Merida, and the voice cast also includes Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson, Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters and Robbie Coltrane.

The DVD comes with a commentary track and the animated shorts ''La Luna'' and ''The Legend of Mordu.'' The three-disc Blu-ray combo includes a dozen featurettes, deleted scenes, an alternate opening and an art gallery. And a five-disc set add the 3D version and a digital copy. (Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, $29.99 DVD, $39.99 Blu-ray/DVD combo, $49.99 Five-Disc Ultimate Collector's Edition)

"Savages: Unrated" - Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson plays marijuana growers whose boutique California business is threatened by Mexican drug lords in this film based on Don Winslow's acclaimed novel. Blake Lively is the woman they both love, and Oliver Stone assembles a stellar supporting cast that includes John Travolta, Salma Hayek and Benicio Del Toro. The movie arrives in an unrated edition that is 11 minutes longer than the theatrical release. Both the DVD and the Blu-ray come with two commentary tracks, one by Stone and a second featuring co-screenwriter / novelist Winslow, co-screenwriter Shane Salerno, production designer Tomas Voth and producers Moritz Borman and Eric Kopeloff. The Blu-ray version adds deleted scenes, a digital copy and ''Stone Cold Savages,'' a five-part profile of the film. (Universal Studios Home Entertainment, $29.98 DVD, $34.98 Blu-ray)

"The Watch" - Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade play a group of Ohio suburbanites who former a neighborhood watch group and uncover an alien invasion. Painfully unfunny, this isn't a movie; it's NASCAR - a vehicle plastered with advertising logos that operates under the premise that if it moves fast enough, no one will realize it's spinning around in circles and serves no purpose whatsoever.

Extras include deleted scenes and a gag reel. (20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, $29.98 DVD, $39.99 Blu-ray)

"2 Days in New York" - This sequel to "2 Days in Paris" has Julie Delpy, who directed and starred in both films, living in New York with her radio host boyfriend (Chris Rock) and dealing with the arrival of family from France while trying to get ready for an important gallery show. (Magnolia Home Entertainment, $26.98 DVD, $29.98 Blu-ray)

"Dark Horse" - Jordan Gelber, Justin Bartha, Selma Blair, Christopher Walken and Mia Farrow star in filmmaker Todd Solonz's latest comedy about uncomfortable human interactions. (Virgil Films and Entertainment, $24.99 DVD, $34.99 Blu-ray)

"Vamps" - Amy Heckerling ("Fast Times at Ridgemont High," "Clueless") directed this comedy starring Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter as two vampires living in New York whose carefree lives are jeopardized when both fall in love. (Anchor Bay, $22.98 DVD, $24.99 Blu-ray)

"The Queen of Versailles" - This documentary looks at a billionaire family that decides to build the world's largest private home - then the housing market collapses. (Magnolia Home Entertainment, $26.98 DVD, $29.98 Blu-ray)

"Lawrence of Arabia: 50th Anniversary Edition" - The Academy Award winner for Best Picture of 1962 makes its Blu-ray debut with two-disc version and a four-disc collector's set. The two-disc set has seven featurettes, including a new interview with Peter O'Toole. The deluxe version comes with a coffee table book, a never-before-released deleted scene, a new interview with "Lawrence" fan Martin Scorsese, archival interviews with other directors, three additional featurettes and a CD of the film score. (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, $26.99 Blu-ray, $95.99 deluxe edition)
