Lawrence Q. Dean 1927-2012

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Lawrence "Larry" Quincy Dean, 85, formerly of Freedom, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Buffalo General Hospital.

He was born March 19, 1927, in Exchange, W.Va., the son of Henry Frank and Mary Lula Blake Dean.

Larry was a World War II veteran, honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He worked in construction as a skilled master diesel mechanic.

Survivors include his children, Candice Edwards of Maryland, Cheryl Dray of Tennessee, Larry Allen of Ohio, Peggy Oakes of West Virginia, Dawn Laster of Maryland and Kevin Dean; three sisters, Zelma Mingo of Burton, Betty Jane Cochennette of Washington and Loreda Gough of Garrettsville; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Garrettsville Masonic Lodge 246 in Garrettsville. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville with full military honors.

Arrangements were handled by Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
