WARREN - Fred J. Grimmett, 77, died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Hospice House in Poland.
He was born Oct. 3, 1935, in Fayette County, W.Va., the son of the late Fred A. and Leona Garten Grimmett.
Fred was a carpenter and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cortland. He enjoyed boating, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, the former Carol A. Hagee, whom he married May 17, 1964; three children, Jonathan F. (Elizabeth) Grimmett of Warren, David Grimmett of Columbus and Helen (John) Hirt of Columbus; six grandchildren, Joshua (Kristen Haney) Grimmett, Tyler Grimmett, Johnny Hirt, Sara (Jaimie Crislip) Grimmett, Lindsey Grimmett and Tina Hirt; and one brother, Garman (Corrina) Grimmett of Oakhill, W.Va.
Other than his parents, Fred was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Layaou and Evelyn Novabilsky, and two brothers, Ralph and Eugene Grimmett.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Gary Crawford will celebrate Fred's life. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family requests that material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512, in his memory.
