NELSON - Elton E. Evans Sr., 86, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Geauga Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 11, 1926, in Parkman, the son of Bert E. and Metta Dixon Evans.
Elton served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a rubber worker at Geauga Industries.

He was a member of Faith Evangelical Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Thrasher Evans; sons, Elton Jr. of Tennessee, Earl of South Carolina, Rodger of Garrettsville and Dale of Florida; daughter, Vera Miller of Ravenna; brother, Elwood of Florida; sister, Lucille Beres of Bedford Heights; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Garrettsville, where funeral services will be held at noon Friday. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.
