Nicholas V. DiLoreto 1917-2012

CORTLAND - Nicholas V. DiLoreto, 95, entered into eternal rest Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren.

He was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Warren, the son of the late Mike DiLoreto and the late Mary Dannessa DiLoreto.

Nicholas retired from ITT Grinnell in 1983, where he worked as a die setter for 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and watching the Cleveland Indians. He loved to walk, but mostly, he loved spending time with his stepgrandchildren.

His wife, Vendetta Adams DiLoreto, whom he married Nov. 25, 1959, preceded him in death June 20, 1999.

He is survived by a stepdaughter, Beverly (Walter) Finney of Cortland; a sister, Edna DiLoreto of Warren; nine stepgrandchildren; 23 stepgreat-grandchildren; 15 stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nicholas was preceded in death by three stepdaughters, Donna Baker, Oris Heim and Claudia Clark; four sisters, Rose Clementi, Lucille Cardarelli, Matilda "Tilly" Len and Vera Dager; three stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland, where funeral services will be held at 7 p.m.Wednesday. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
