HELPING AT THANKSGIVING: Thanksgiving items are being accepted at the Emanuel Community Care Center, U.S. Route 422, Girard. Those wishing to donate can call 330-545-4301. Food items needed include corn, evaporated milk, pumpkin pie filling and cranberries. Items are needed by Thursday. The Christmas signup is also in progress with the center to distribute Christmas gifts for children up to age 15 on Dec. 18. Signups are through Dec. 4. FOOD ITEMS NEEDED: The Warren Family Mission is preparing for the community Thanksgiving meal from noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 21 and is need of various food items including turkeys, stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, green beans, corn, fruit punch and assorted pies. YWCA OFFERS ENRICHMENT PROGRAM: The YWCA of Warren's licensed After School Enrichment program will now be held onsite at YWCA building, 375 N. Park Ave., Warren. Students enrolled in the Lincoln After School program will remain at that site after school. There will be indoor and outdoor activities, arts and crafts, homework assistance and a snack from 2:30 to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday. Enrollment is open to students in any school district. FARM MARKET SET: A special holiday farmers' market will be held from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center's private dining rooms on 2-West. The market is open to staff, visitors and the public. Shoppers can buy locally grown products for use at their holiday dinners. HISTORICAL SOCIETY OFFERS CALENDAR: The Cortland-Bazetta Historical Society is selling 2013 calendars that include 12 pictures of "old" Cortland. Cost is $10 available from society members.

D-DAY TOPIC OF PROGRAM: Trumbull County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will have guest speaker Sue Bell at 10:15 a.m. today discussing "Small Villages of France and D-Day Beaches" at the Thomas Room of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library. The story of Normandy, France, will be presented through photos from an April 2012 trip.
