DEAR EDITOR:
Men have been searching for truth for centuries. The truth is, it has been one of the most elusive commodities in human history.
One of the reasons is the fact that truth is often painful. The success or failure of many nations throughout history has been their willingness to accept the pain of truth and deal with it. Nations whose leaders have led in truth have overcome great odds to achieve greatness. George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill come to mind.
Truth takes courage because popular opinion is not always on your side. Going against the flow is not usually a good political position, but some people are more interested in truth than popularity.
The truth is, it is our human nature to take the easy way out and to do it by avoiding truth if we have to, even though by not dealing with truth and facing it we merely postpone its inevitability.
America is not a nation of cowards, but in the last 50 years, we have been increasingly led away from the truths that made our nation great. Trust in God, self-reliance and national pride and sovereignty. We have been deceived by men motivated by greed, lust and an agenda of immorality.
Ultimate truth came to humanity 2,000 years ago and we nailed it to a cross. It was too much for mankind to handle then, it has been too much to handle down through history and we continue today to try to nail it to a cross.
Ultimate truth is coming again, and this time He won't be nailed to a cross. I hope we will be ready to receive Him and His truth when He arrives.
