Guy J. Capito 1925-2012

NILES - Guy J. "Pint" Capito, 87, of Niles, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at his residence.

Guy was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Warren, the son of Guy and Raefale Capito, and moved to Niles in 1952 from Warren.

He retired in 1987 from Packard Electric as an artos cutter and union committeeman, and had worked there for 40 years.

Guy was a member Mount Carmel Church in Niles, Warren K of C 4484 and the Warren Italian Fest.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, bocce, playing pinochle and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Doris L. Capito, whom he married June 16, 1951; children, Guy Martin (Maureen) Capito of Akron, Patricia (David Shaffer) Shelley of Niles, Thomas "Tom" (Nora) Capito of Niles, Lisa (Bob) of Niles and Karen Jo Capito of Niles; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Josephine Nicopolis, Anna Marie Pecorelli and Antonette "Toni" Capito, all of Warren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Robbie and Troy; brother, Gregory D. Capito Sr.; and a sister; Gloria Young.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road N.E., Warren, OH 44483.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Camel Church in Niles, with the Rev. John-Michael Lavelle officiating.

Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

The family offers a special thanks to Hospice of the Valley and senior independence, and a very special "thank you" to his caretaker and granddaughter, Angie Shelley, for her constant care of her grandfather.
