NELSON - Vera Bell Newcomb, 94, passed to heaven Wednesday Nov. 7, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.
She was born June 11, 1918, in Nelson Township, the daughter of the late Harry E. and Leath Walters Bell, and was a lifetime Nelson area resident.
A graduate of Nelson High School, she was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and spending time with her family.

Newcomb
Mrs. Newcomb was a member of the Nelson United Methodist Church, where she was active with the Literary Music Club.
She had been employed at Johnson Rubber Company in Middlefield prior to her marriage on June 24, 1939, to Rolland E. "Rocky" Newcomb. Their marriage took place at Nelson Ledges State Park, where Rocky's parents, Seymore and Ethel Newcomb, lived and were park caretakers.
The couple were blessed with 60 years of married happiness before Mr. Newcomb's passing in 1999. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Harland, Carl and Emerson Bell.
Mrs. Newcomb is survived by her sons, Robert (Deborah) Newcomb of Warren, Thomas (Kathy) Newcomb of Parkman and Donald (Tami) Newcomb of Mansfield, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Hughes.
Mrs. Newcomb will then be laid to rest at Harrington Cemetery in Nelson Township beside her loving husband, ''Rocky.''
