NILES - Judith Lee Chapman, 76, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center.
She was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Hazel Garrard Philips.
Judith enjoyed taking bus trips with her high school classmates and going to the casinos, flea markets, craft shows and shopping. She especially loved watching her grandchildren play sports.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Kenneth Chapman, whom she married March 9, 1957; a son, Jack Chapman of McDonald; two daughters, Kathy Chapman of Niles and Karen (Frank) Cretella of Girard; a brother, Jack (Barbara) Philips of California; a sister, Sandy (Bob) Fuzy of Austintown; a brother-in-law, Edward Gayan of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Frankie and Katie; two great-grandchildren, Dominick and Anthony; and a close friend of more than 55 years, Shirley Beckwith.
Judith was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Gayan, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., Girard, OH 44420. Friends will be received from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
