WARREN - ''Valor and Sacrifice,'' a 424-page book of more than 200 veteran profile stories written by Tribune Chronicle staff between 2003 and 2011, will be on sale today.
The single-volume collection of stories is based on 217 interviews with Trumbull County veterans.
The hardcover, full-color book includes photographs taken by newspaper staff as well as pictures provided by the veterans. There also are photographs from the National Archives included in the coffee-table-style book.
The book will be available for sale at today's Trumbull County Veterans Day celebration and parade at First Presbyterian Church in Warren. It will cost $34.95 plus tax if purchased during the event.
Those who have pre-ordered the book can pick up a copy from 8 a.m. to noon today in the Tribune Chronicle lobby, 240 Franklin St. S.E.
The Tribune Chronicle also will hold a sale of ''Valor and Sacrifice'' from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2016 Millennium Boulevard, in the front of the store near the cash registers. This will give customers a final opportunity to purchase the book at the $34.95 pre-sale rate.
