CORTLAND - Betty Ilene Ryan, 87, died at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 4, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Shelby, the daughter of the late Harry Parr and Florence Marie Laser.
Betty was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She retired from the LaBrae school system after 30 years of service as the secretary to the superintendent.

Together Again
Mrs. Ryan enjoyed traveling and making things with cross-stitch. She also loved animals, especially her pets. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Betty was also passionate about caring for others as well.
Survivors include her five children, Allen L. (Marcia) of Warren, Dennis L. (Janice) of Niles, James Michael of Warren, Kathleen (Larry) Nash of Alpharetta, Ga., and Charlene (Danny) Ryan-Clopp of Plano, Texas; one brother, Phillip (LuAnn) Parr of Lufkin, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Ryan, to whom she was united in marriage on Sept. 24, 1943, and who died May 30, 2000, and two grandchildren, Kimberly Ryan and Mark Nash.
A private family memorial service will take place at Pine Knoll Cemetery Chapel in Warren.
The family requests that material contributions be made in her memory for the benefit of veterans to the Washington Square Healthcare Center, 202 Washington St. N.W., Warren, OH 44483, or the the Warren Family Mission, 1228 W. Market St., Warren, OH 44485.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
