After being shut down for more than a month for routine maintenance, the nuclear-powered Beaver Valley Power Station in Shippingport, Pa., returned to service Sunday, officials announced.
The power plant is operated by FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The plant was shut down Sept. 24 for refueling and maintenance.
FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. also operates the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station in Oak Harbor and the Perry Nuclear Power Plant in Perry, both in Ohio.
