LAKELAND, Fla. - Ken E. Joyce, 50, formerly of Niles, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 in Lakeland, Fla.
He was born Oct. 17, 1962 in Warren, the son of Ralph R. "Ike" and Margaret S. Persing Joyce.
Ken was a member of the Ohio National Guard, attended Niles McKinley High School, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He worked as a journeyman union electrician for 25 years, ran track and cross county in high school, enjoyed cooking, country music, sports and reading the Bible. Ken was also known for enjoying a good laugh and joke.
Ken is survived by his mother, Margaret Joyce of Niles; a daughter, Shana Phillips of Florida; a stepson, David Vargas; a stepdaughter, Shauna Vargas of Florida; a brother, Ralph C. (Michelle) Joyce of Florida; sisters, Marie (Bob) Wiland of Kinsman, Susan (Adrian) Biviano of Niles, Peggy (Mark) Downer of Hubbard, Kathy Joyce of Niles, Robin Joyce of Warren, Beth (Marty) Toth of Mineral Ridge, Caren (Sam) Ragozine of Niles and Sharon (Michael) D'Allessandro of Niles; five grandchildren, and his partner Toni Cobb.
He was preceded in death by his father, his paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Niles with Pastor David Conrad officiating. Calling hours will be from 5 p.m. until time of service at the church.
The family request that material contributions be made to the Disabled Veterans of America.
Interment will be in Kerr Cemetery.
