BOARDMAN - Police here say a man accidentally shot his father in the leg Saturday night while trying to show the gun to someone else.
The semi-automatic gun discharged in their garage shortly after the family finished distributing candy to trick-or-treaters.
The 51-year-old man who was shot was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center with a thigh injury that wasn't believed to be life-threatening.
The son, 24, was charged with misdemeanor negligent assault and was being interviewed by authorities.
