'We the People' at crossroads

November 1, 2012

DEAR EDITOR:

''We The People'' continue to error in our judgment. We are guilty of allowing serious misbehavior in our politicians? How you say?

It is again time to elect our future government leaders, our public servants. Is it not wise to elect politicians who represent or share our mode of thinking, our beliefs, and our true needs? Why would we vote for someone who has a history of making past decisions that do not agree or reflect our own? We must vote for the person of integrity and one who understands the basis of a Republic. I so wish there were more Independents, where I could find and vote for people of integrity who will do what is right and not necessarily play party politics. We must vote for the person first, and not for the party. Over the past forty-five years I have heard my fellow man/woman state that they are voting for one party only, the straight party line for each open post. This person did not take in consideration the results of the politician's voting record or where a strong central government of one dominant party could hurt us. Where does that line of thinking place us today?

Our government was established on a checks and balances system. Why would we want to set ourselves up, so that certain politicians of one dominant party could capture one ticket and force their line of thinking on all of us? Our forefathers set up a checks and balances system to make sure corruption could not take over our government. Many European, African, South American and Asian countries have fallen victim to corrupt leadership who captured a government for their own wants and desires and not the rights and needs of and for the people. Look at history.

Politicians are public servants. Caesar, Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, and Hitler were not public servants. Corrupt leadership is about folks like you and I being pawns of the elite few, a dominant central government. People become puppets often by their own stupidity and lack of common sense by placing their trust completely in the wrong political structure.

''We The People'' are at a crossroads. We want the three legs of our government to have a checks and balances system. Only those lacking common sense would vote solely along party lines! There are good and bad politicians in every party. 'We the People' have voted for politicians who have allowed much social decay.

In Socialist, Communist, and Marxist governments the rights of the people are controlled by the government or dictator in charge. The American Constitution was built on a checks and balances'system and provided citizen's rights founded on the Creator's Ten Commandments based on Love of God and Love of Neighbor. These other deviant cultures did not work anywhere else worldwide, and it will not work here in America. Careful who you vote for.
