DEAR EDITOR:
Earlier this year the Commissioners, Polivka, Fuda and Heltzel delayed a decision on the Central and Eastern court consolidation until the last moment, before sending their local decision to Columbus. When their local approval got to Columbus, the team of Letson, Cafaro and O'Brien worked their political magic and were able to get the court consolidation stopped in the Legislature. Consolidating the courts, would generate a savings of $200,000 per year for Trumbull County taxpayers, part of that savings is specific to Brookfield.
After O'Brien fleeced the Brookfield taxpayers of their share of the court consolidation savings, the Brookfield taxpayers are being asked to spend more of their money and pass a levy to fund Police and Fire. O'Brien took the savings away from those taxpayers he represents and now, the same taxpayers are being asked to pass a levy. This is another example of disrespect for the taxpayers by politicians.
It is time to band together to vote O'Brien out of office and the 63rd District. The Brookfield taxpayers should make it known to O'Brien that he works for ``we the people.''
Pat Paridon is running against O'Brien in the 63rd District. She is not a politician but a concerned citizen who wants to make a difference. O'Brien has done enough damage in his time in office. Make a change and vote for Pat Paridon.
