NELSON - The Ravenna Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate a crash in which a teenager was killed Tuesday afternoon on state Route 88, north of state Route 305.
Nicholas D. Stock, 16, of Garrettsville, was killed about 4 p.m. after his northbound vehicle went out of control on wet pavement at a gradual left curve in the road. His 1996 Toyota slid left of center, striking the front end of a southbound 2011 Ford pickup truck, according to the patrol.
The driver of the pickup, Richard A. Bonner, 62, of Mantua, received minor injuries and did not require immediate medical treatment, according to the patrol.
Stock was wearing a seat belt.
The accident marks Portage County's 11th fatal crash in 2012.
