LIBERTY - Mary J. "May" Forte, 92, of Girard, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Liberty Health Care Center.
She was born July 22, 1920, in Girard, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Sherock Forte.
Mary worked at the McDonald Steel Mill during World War II, Fusco Dry Cleaners in Girard and at Hills Department Store at the Liberty Plaza as a clerk for 24 years, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of St. Rose Church.
She is survived by her brother, Fred (Ann) Forte; niece, Mary Cunningham, who was her caregiver; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Agnes Mills; and brothers, Eugene, Joseph, James and Charles Forte.
A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday at St. Rose Church, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at Blackstone Funeral Home.
Family will receive relatives and friends 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Blackstone Funeral Home.
Family requests in lieu of flowers that material contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Interment will be held at Girard City Cemetery.
