FARMDALE - James R. "Jim" Hickerson, 61, of Johnston Township, died at 10:18 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center emergency room.
He was born May 7, 1951, in Hallwald, Tenn., the son of Marshall L. and Carrie Battles Hickerson.
Jim lived in the Warren area all his life, moving here from Tennessee as a young child. He was a 1969 graduate of Western Reserve High School.

He retired in 2000 from Republic Steel as a crane operator after 30 years.
Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle, was an outdoor enthusiast, especially of boating, jet skiing, swimming and gardening, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. His favorite pastime was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Fish Hickerson, whom he married Feb. 24, 1985; his children, Crystal (Frank) Keeley of Niles, Angela (Michael) Harris of Columbus, Jesse (Jennifer) Hickerson of Westerville and April (James) Gordon of Farmdale; his grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Mia, Matthew, Aidan, Ava, Abbey, Sam and another grandchild expected in March; his sisters, Marge (Larry) King and Judy Moore, both of Granbury, Texas; sister-in-law Cheryl (Rick) Bulford of Warren; and mother-in-law Alverta Fish of Warren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Hickerson.
Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
Service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
