DEAR EDITOR:
I have a very personal reason for why I am not voting for either Rep. Thomas B.J. Letson or Sen. Capri Cafaro, even though I have voted for each of them in prior elections.
I am a transactional attorney. In the recent years in the course of my practice, I have been involved in two different situations in which I thought modification to existing Ohio legislation would be appropriate. In each instance, I wrote to both Letson and Cafaro a letter explaining in detail the particular situation and suggestions for remedial legislation.
I never received any form of response. It did not matter whether either of them agreed with my position in either instance. A "thank you for your interest" letter would have been sufficient. Better yet would have been a thank-you and an indication that the matter had been referred to the appropriate committee of either the House or Senate.
Therefore, on a personal level, I am greatly offended by the yard signs of Cafaro asking for my vote so she can keep working for us. Irrespective of the work that either of them have done in Columbus, their callous disregard of this voter attempting to communicate with them on matters of legitimate interest to all Ohioans has cost them my support.
