WARREN - A Diamond man pleaded not guilty Thursday in a Sept. 21 double fatality in Newton Township.

Bond was set at $200,000 for Paul Wodianka, 42, of Mahoning Avenue, who was handcuffed by a state trooper while still in his wheelchair on the second-floor of the Trumbull County Courthouse.

He was arrested Wednesday on a secret indictment by a Trumbull County Common Pleas Court grand jury on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and possession of drugs.

Killed in the crash were Jamie T. Danes, 37, and Emily M. Danes, 29. The accident happened on South Canal Street and Hott West Road in Newton.

The case was assigned to Judge W. Wyatt McKay.

Gunmen take money from man in his home

YOUNGSTOWN - A West Side man told police a pair of gunmen burst into his 233 Bouquet Ave. home about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and took $200 from him at gunpoint.

The man told police he was inside his home when he heard a noise and saw a pickup truck parked outside. He walked to a back door but before he could get there, two men with guns forced open the door and forced the man on the ground while demanding money.

The man denied he had any money but one of the men stood on his back, reached into his back pocket and took his wallet, which had $200 inside. The men ran out the same door they came in and drove away in the truck toward Mahoning Avenue.

Police searched for the truck but could not find it.

Hartman will leave Dec. 31, and his replacement will be appointed by the board to fill his term starting in 2013.

Sewell said the selected replacement, to keep the seat, would have to run in the November 2013 election for the remaining two years of Hartman's four-year term.

Applications will be accepted through Nov. 19 at the board office, 1001 N. Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg, OH 44430.
