Police: Man dies after Youngstown shooting
YOUNGSTOWN - A man shot on a North Side street died Saturday afternoon of his injuries.
Mark Haskins, 57, who was shot Oct. 17, died at St. Elizabeth Health Center, said Chief of Detectives Capt. Mark Milstead.
His death is the city's 22nd homicide of the year.
Police were called after someone fired several shots at Haskins at the corner of Kensington and Bissell avenues on Oct. 17.
Milstead said investigators think Haskins, of Norwood Avenue, had an argument with someone before he was shot.
Last year, Youngstown had 24 homicides.
Police: Gun, ammunition found on suspect
WARREN - Police found a semiautomatic handgun and a magazine loaded with seven rounds of ammunition while answering a disturbance call late Monday evening.
Randall Evans, 29, of Vienna Avenue in Niles, was arraigned in Municipal Court Tuesday for two charges of aggravated menacing and carrying a concealed weapon.
He has a $7,500 bond and is due back in court Oct. 30.
Police were called to a report of a disturbance at 408 Chestnut St. about 11 p.m. and saw a man run behind the house when they pulled up a couple of houses away.
Officers managed to chase the man later identified as Evans and caught him. He kept reaching into his sweatshirt as police questioned him and he was handcuffed later as officers searched and found a 9mm Smith & Wesson with one bullet near the garage and a magazine of ammunition with seven rounds at another part of the garage.
A man inside the home said Evans pointed a gun and ordered him to leave. The woman who called 911, Tanisha Lightning, 33, said Evans demanded to know who she was seeing and then pointed a gun at her.
Evans was taken to the Trumbull County Jail, as was Lightning when it was found she had two outstanding warrants.
Police: Break-in reported at Warren bar
WARREN - Police say cash, a laptop computer, liquor and a DVD player were taken from a Warren bar sometime overnight Sunday.
Reports state someone got inside the Paradise Bar, 2261 N. Park Ave., after it closed about 2:30 a.m. Sunday and kicked in an office door.
About $2,400 in cash was taken, reports state. The owner told police there was no sign someone forced their way inside the outside door, reports state.
CBS News tapes feature on local 'Obama Express'
CBS News will be taping a segment today in Youngstown on the Mahoning County Democratic Party's ''Obama Express'' van, party chairman David Betras said.
The 15-passenger van is driven by volunteers to get voters to the polls and acted as a mobile voter registration site before the Oct. 9 deadline.
Betras said CBS called and wanted to do an interview. ''Anytime I can show off the Valley, shine a national spotlight on the Valley, it's good,'' Betras said.
Meanwhile, a production and news crew from the PBS NewsHour program was at the Mahoning County GOP Headquarters in Boardman Tuesday night to cover Republican efforts on behalf of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and other GOP candidates.

causes Warren fire
WARREN - Unattended cooking is to blame for a fire at a Tod Avenue S.W. home Monday afternoon, fire Chief Ken Nussle said.
Firefighters were called to 1510 Tod Ave. S.W. about 4:50 p.m. and found a fire in the kitchen.
The homeowner managed to get out and was with a neighbor when firefighters got there, Nussle said. He said the blaze caused $25,000 in damage.
