BRISTOL 1, JOHN F. KENNEDY 0: BRISTOLVILLE - Bristol's Lexi Campbell's corner kick with 9 minutes into overtime found an awaiting Lindsey Elza in front of the John F. Kennedy goal during Thursday's Division III sectional final.
Elza chipped the ball over the top of Calli Kowach's outstretched arms to break a scoreless tie and lift the Panthers (12-2-3) to the district semifinals.
Bristol will play at Champion on Monday.
CHAMPION 2, PYMATUNING VALLEY 0: CHAMPION - The Golden Flashes scored twice in the first half and then cruised past Pymatuning Valley in a Division III sectional final.
Megan Harkins and Taylor Kesling had the goals for Champion, while goalkeeper Kelly Robinson was called upon to make only one save in net.
Champion (11-4-2) advances to a district semifinal at home against Bristol on Monday at 7 p.m.
HOWLAND 3, STOW 1: STOW - Howland took a 2-1 halftime lead, then added an insurance goal in the second half in this Division I sectional final.
Seyla Perez, Hope Sutton and Ashley Seem tallied the goals for the Tigers (16-2).
Howland advances to play at Hudson on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a district semifinal.
ROOTSTOWN 2, LaBRAE 0: LEAVITTSBURG - Maggie Durbak had a goal and an assist for Rootstown in this Division III sectional final.
Madison Hartung turned aside all 11 shots she faced for the Rovers, while Lindsay Jaros made 12 saves for LaBrae.
Rootstown will play at Garfield on Monday at 7 p.m. in a district semifinal.
GARFIELD 1, BADGER 0: KINSMAN - Badger had the stats it needed to put itself in position for the win - shots on goal (11-7) and corner kicks (5-4).
But, Garfield had the stat that mattered the most - goals.
Caytlin Armstrong fed Jackie Tabor the ball in the second half to lift the G-Men past the Braves in this Division III sectional final.
Garfield hosts Rootstown Monday at 7 p.m., in a district semifinal.
Volleyball
GIRARD 3, EAST PALESTINE 0: SALEM - Callie Jay had 11 kills, eight points, five aces and two blocks to lead Girard in a Division III sectional final.
Hayley Spalla added 29 assists and Alasjia Dykes had 14 points for the Indians (13-11).
Girard advances to play Springfield in a district semifinal Monday at 5 p.m.
SOUTH RANGE 3, ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 1: SALEM - Ashley Shetter had 24 kills and seven digs to pace the Raiders past the Knights in this Division III sectional final at Salem High School.
Stevie Taylor had 6 points and three aces for South Range, which moves on to play Waterloo Monday at 6:30 p.m., in a district semifinal.
SALEM 3, CARDINAL MOONEY 0: BOARDMAN - Carsen Herron had 18 assists and two aces to pace Salem in this Division II sectional final.
Sami Reeds added 14 digs for the Quakers (14-9), while Gina Patella had 21 assists for Mooney.
Salem will next play Southeast on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in a district semifinal.
