WARREN - Trumbull County home sales remained flat in September, at 133, compared with the number of homes sold in September 2011, but year-to-date the number of closings on home sales is up about 8 percent over last year.
Trumbull County home buyers closed on 1,258 homes through the end of September, according to statistics released this week by the Youngstown-Columbiana Association of Realtors and the Warren Area Board of Realtors.
The median sales price also increased last month to $69,900 over last year's median sale price of $69,000 in Trumbull County.
It was the first time in about 15 months that there was no significant increase in number of homes sold compared with the same month last year.
Sales were similar in Mahoning County, with buyers closing on 174 homes in September, compared to 171 last September. Median selling price in that county was $60,550, almost $10,000 less than last September's median selling price of $70,000.
Statewide and national home sales figures for September are scheduled to be released today.
