Party in the pumpkin patch

PUMPKIN PATCH HOLDS PARTY: Parto's Golf Center and Pumpkin Patch will hold its free annual Halloween Party for children of all ages from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2231 Coitsville Hubbard Road. The event will include face painting, pumpkin decorating, games and treats. Those attending are asked to wear costumes. Call 330-743-6718 for information.

FUNDRAISER TO HELP MAN: A fundraiser to help Kevin Juillerat will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Don Victor's Mexican Restaurant, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown. Juillerat suffered a massive stroke in August. Vendors are asked to donate prizes to be raffled. Proceeds from the raffle and dinner will help the family with medical costs. FOOD DRIVE BEING HELD: In an effort to fight hunger in the community, the Girard Chiropractic Center, 512 N. State St., will hold a food drive through Nov. 16 accepting nonperishable food items to help local families in need this holiday season. A goal is to help 50 families. Donations can be dropped off 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday.

BAKE SALE PLANNED: The Summer Enrichment Program for special needs and handicapped young adults will hold a Chinese auction and bake sale from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Candelight Knolls, 2619 Hoagland Blackstub Road, to benefit the program.

CEMETERY WALK SET IN NILES: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles has scheduled events for the Halloween season including a cemetery walk at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Niles City Cemetery with local historian Wendell Lauth, and ghost hunting in Ohio with author John Kachuba at 6 p.m. Oct. 30. JOB FAIR BEING HELD: The Mahoning Valley Hope Center, 3217 Surrey Road, Warren, will hold a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday. For information, call 330-369-3010.

The center is also offering a ''Drop Back In'' free program for ages 18 to 22 who dropped out of college and want to drop in. The program will provide a computer and printer and help individuals get their diplomas.

APPLICATIONS BEING TAKEN FOR CHRISTMAS: Christmas applications are being taken from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Salvation Army Mahoning County, 1501 Glenwood Ave. Those attending are asked to bring photo identification, proof of all those in a household, proof of income and proof of expenses. Those applying cannot be on any other agency or church list.

EVENT TO HELP DOGS: Safe at Last Dog Rescue of Ohio and For the Dogs will hold a "Junk in Your Trunk" sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bev MASCO, 825 Bev Road, Boardman. Spots are $15, with nonprofit groups $5. Call 330-565-0828.
