PACKARD RETIREES TO MEET: Packard Electric and Delphi Packard Local 717 Retirees will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Local 717's Union Hall, 2950 Sferra Ave., Warren Commerce Park, Warren.

Members attending are asked to bring a labeled, covered dish and table service. Also, this month is the group's indoor yard sale and members are asked to bring priced, clean items to the meeting to sell (no broken items, no clothing and no shoes).

A reminder, Christmas party funds will be collected at this meeting and in November. Cost is a membership card and $10.

SCOPE OFFERING CLASSES: The Warren SCOPE Center, 220 W. Market Street, is offering tap dancing lessons for Trumbull County seniors 60 and older on Friday mornings. All skill levels are invited to participate.

The class is scheduled for 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. A chair tap class is scheduled from 10 to 10:30 a.m. for beginners. The cost for the chair tap class is $1 per session. The tap dance class cost is $2.50 per session.

Fall computer classes are being scheduled at the Warren center for Trumbull County seniors. An introductory orientation class is slated for 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 26.

Those who have laptops are encouraged to bring them to class. The cost is $2 per session, payable at the door.

The center invites Trumbull County seniors who are interested in playing pool to join its newly formed league. Play begins on Nov. 1 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Senior men and women of all skill levels are invited. Free lessons will be provided. This league is for recreation only.

Warren Rotary's blood analysis event will be held Oct. 27 at the SCOPE center. Testing will be from 7 to 10 a.m. and cost $36 per person. It will include a chemistry profile, CBC profile and urine testing. Results will be mailed to each participant who must fast for 12 hours prior to testing. No alcoholic beverages may be consumed 24 hours before testing.

The center invites all Trumbull County seniors to attend a 9:30 a.m. breakfast on Tuesday when John Woods, insurance agent, will discuss the 2013 insurance changes. The breakfast cost is $2 per person. To register or for more information, call 330-399-8846.

CHAMPION SCOPE TO HOST LUNCHEONS: Christian Gallagher from Hands on Make a Difference will be speaker at the Champion SCOPE Luncheon on Oct. 25. His topic will be volunteering. Lunch is at 11 a.m. and speaker is at 11:15.

Jason De Luca from the Trumbull County Hazardous Material Response Bureau will be speaking on hazardous material in the home at the 10:30 a.m. Monday morning breakfast on Oct. 29. DeLuca will speak at 11 a.m.

WINDSOR HOUSE TO OPEN CHAMPION ESTATES: Windsor House Inc., local owners and operators of 11 nursing homes and four assisted living communities in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania, will hold a public grand opening celebration for the completion of Trumbull County's newest assisted living, Champion Estates.

The festivities will take place 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 25. Refreshments and tours will be provided. Champion Estates Assisted Living, 1 Windsor Place in Champion, Mahoning and Champion avenues, is comprised of 56 apartments furnished with microwave and refrigerator.

The TRUMBULL COUNTY NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs and operates nutrition sites at 11 locations throughout Trumbull County. These sites provide a meal and the opportunity for socialization. Donations will be accepted.

Any senior citizen 60 and older and his or her spouse are welcome for lunch at any of the following sites:

FOWLER-VIENNA SENIOR CITIZENS: The group meets 9:30 a.m. or later every Thursday at the Fowler Community Center to play cards and games, to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, and for a 50-50 raffle and meals. Special meals are served on the fourth Thursday of the month. Cost is $3 each. All those 55 or older are welcome. Annual dues are $12.

LORDSTOWN SCOPE

Cards and bingo are played every day and singing is on Wednesdays. To attend, call Davis two days prior.

JOHNSTON SENIOR CENTER
