WARREN - Roger L. Fertig Sr., 63, died at 6:12 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at The Cleveland Clinic.
He was born Nov. 6, 1948, in Dundalk, Md., the son of James and Roza Burdette Fertig.
Roger was a 1966 high school graduate in Maryland and employed as skilled repairmen at Delphi Packard and General Motors in Lordstown for 30 years.

He was a member of the John D. Massey Army-Navy Garrison 422 in Girard, VFW in Mecca, Warren Moose Lodge, Vienna Amvets Post 290, having recently assumed the office of commander-in-chief, and served as past local and state commander of the Army-Navy.
He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War having served as a military policemen.
He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing and boating.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Judith McMurray Fertig, whom he married Aug. 1, 1987; a son, Roger L.(Margaret) Fertig Jr. of Warren; a stepson, Paul (Josepha) Yannucci of Pensecola, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Rachael Fetty (David) Doyle of Niles; a brother, James H. Fertig of Norman, Okla; five grandchildren, Brandie Rose Fertig, Jack Alexander Fertig, Codie Allen Schneider, Paul A. Yannucci and Dylan Yannucci.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Fertig; and a stepdaughter, Kimberly Kohli.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. James Bear officiating.
Roger will be honored for his military service following the services at the funeral home Wednesday.
