BAZETTA - Howland's and Maplewood's boys cross country teams each won titles at Saturday's Sim Earich Invitational at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds.
Maplewood, for the second straight meet, scored 15 points to win the Division III title. The Rockets beat Western Reserve Academy for the Sim Earich title, 15-40.
Howland bested Austintown Fitch's A team, 35-45, to win the Division I-II crown.
Maplewood, led by Wyatt Hartman's first-place finish, won the Northeastern Athletic Conference title on Tuesday with 15 points.
Derek Morrison, Solomon Yoder and Tristan Dahman finish second through fourth for Maplewood, respectively. Owen Reeher from Badger was fifth and Maplewood's Mike Dahmen was sixth.
As for Howland, Ryan Sullivan captured another first-place finish by besting Lakeview's Eric Harris. Liberty's Jon Richmond, Austintown Fitch's Bryce Baker and Lakeview's Chris Edie round out the top five spots.
Grand Valley's Jessica Finley beat out Lisbon's Carmen Phillips for the Division III girls title. Badger's Jennilyn Krumpe, Lisbon's Bobbi Jo Evans and Western Reserve Academy's Mia Medicus round out the top five.
Poland beat out Howland for the girls Division I-II crown, 47-61.
