Miriam R. Shively 1920-2012

YUKON, Okla. - Miriam Roberta Shively, 92, of Yukon, Okla., died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Ranchwood Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Warren, the daughter of Fred R. and Grace Logue Stafford, and lived in Niles most of her life. She and her husband moved to Oklahoma City in 1998 to be with their family.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Niles and Messiah Lutheran Church of Oklahoma City.

She retired in 1980 after working 16 years as a secretary at the Dollar Savings and Trust and later Security Dollar Bank.

She and her husband loved to travel.

Mim is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Jones of Yukon; son, Robert G. Shively of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vivian Lane of Davie, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Shively, whom she married on April 30, 1942, and who died on March 15, 2010; and two brothers, Fred and Roy Stafford.

Graveside Committal and Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Lordstown Cemetery Chapel. The Rev. David Conrad of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate.
