Ronald G. Bocsa Sr. 1947-2012

NILES - Ronald G. Bocsa Sr., 65, of Niles, died at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center.

He was born July 21, 1947, in Warren, the son of George and Mary L. Rakarich Bocsa.

A lifelong area resident, Ron was a member of St. Stephen Church of Niles, a graduate of Niles McKinley High School Class of 1965, and a member of the Youngstown Rifle and Gun Club.

He was an avid pool player, a motorcycle enthusiast - he took great pride in his Honda Gold Wing - and enjoyed spending time with his friends at Dunkin' Donuts.

Ron was a corrections officer for the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office, retiring in 2011. He also was a drug and alcohol counselor for Hillside Hospital and various other agencies in the area.

He is survived by his three sons, Army Lt. Ronald G. Bocsa II of Niles, now serving in Afghanistan, Robert (Becky) Bucci of Girard and Aaron (Andrea) Bucci of Austintown; sisters, Claudia (Dennis) Match of Wadsworth and Regina Benedict of Niles; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-law, Jeff Benedict.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles. A service of Christian burial will follow at 7 p.m. The Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will officiate.

The family request that material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley or the American Cancer Society.
