NEWTON FALLS - Lillian B. Petro, 84, of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Laurie Ann Nursing Home, surrounded by her family and friends.
Lillian was born on April 9, 1928, in Newton Falls, the daughter of Michael and Dorothy Regalia Blasko.
A lifetime area resident, Lillian was a graduate of Newton Falls High School.
During the 1950s, Lillian worked at the Ravenna Arsenal. She later was a consultant for Home Interiors and was a volunteer at Warren General Hospital.
Lillian was a devoted wife to her husband, Peter, during their 59-year marriage. Lillian and Peter were "snowbirds" for 19 years to Naples, Fla.
As a longstanding parishioner of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Lillian was a member of St. Michael's Ladies Guild and Rosary Society.
A favorite pastime for Lillian was shopping. She also loved children and all knew her as "Aunt Lil.''
Preceding Lillian were her parents and her husband, Peter.
Memories of Lillian will be carried on by her loving family; her sister, Grace (Warren "Bud") Warden; her nephew, Christopher; her great-nephew, Ricky Warden; her niece, Barbara (Jim) Hash and Holly; Andrea Peaco, C.J. and Nicholas, Jay (Kim) Hash, Lilly, Olivia and Luke; nephews, John (Beverly) Petro and Elizabeth and Tom (Mary) Petro, Joseph and Nancy.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Andrew Kolitsos as celebrant at St. Michael's Church, 737 Ridge Road, Newton Falls. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. prior to the liturgy.
