BENEFIT TO HELP WOMAN: A Team Rae craft show and bake sale cancer benefit to help Rachael Wiltrout Felton, 29, who was diagnosed in August with myofibroblastic sarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct 20 at Maplewood Elementary School, 1699 Kinsman Road, North Bloomfield, (Greene). The event includes a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, and face painting. Cost is $5 at the door and $3 in advance.

Felton has been traveling for her treatment and is facing two major surgeries which will both include hospital stays. Until her diagnosis with cancer, she was a full-time student at Kent State University.
MATH FEST PLANNED: Youngstown State University will hold a Math Fest with mathematical workshops for grades 9 to 12 on Thursday at the YSU Kilcawley Center. Cost is $5.
CENTER TO HELP FAMILIES: Families in the Girard area who are registered at the Emmanuel Center and in need of assistance may call the center at 330-545-4301 to sign up for Thanksgiving baskets through Nov. 9. Families who sign up will receive a gift card to purchase a turkey and a box of food for Thanksgiving dinner.
The center is accepting donations of food items from individuals or groups. The center is in need of canned sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie filling and canned cranberries. Monetary donations are also accepted.

The workshop will feature native edible plants, low-maintenance fruits and nuts, and landscape design strategies. The workshop is free.

CLEVELAND BROWN TO SPEAK: Don Cockroft, a kicker with the National Football League, will speak at 6 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Avenue N.W.,Warren.
Cockroft, author of "The 1980 Kardiac Kids: Our Untold Stories," will talk about the 1980 Cleveland Browns season and the team that made it happen, the team affectionately known as The Kardiac Kids. His final year would be the heart-pounding season of the 1980 Kardiac Kids. He will have copies of his book available for purchase at a book signing following the free program.
CHAMPION EVENT PLANNED: Champion Schools Senior Citizen Advisory Committee is holding its sixth annual fall fest appreciation awards program at 11 a.m. Oct. 25 at Champion Middle School. Lunch is $3 and reservations can be made by calling Carolyn Stear at 330-847-2338.
