LEAVITTSBURG - Two of the males found in LaBrae High School this morning were trying to pass themselves off as students, according to Superintendent Anthony J. Calderone.

"One of our teachers recognized that they were not our students, contacted an administrator who called the police," Calderone said about the lockdown that began about 7:30 a.m.

Taken into custody were four males, two of which are students at the school, one who is home-schooled and one adult, according to police.

"The men attempted to flee but was arrested by police already on school property," Calderone said.

After the men were taken away, a search was conducted. Police found a bottle of alcohol on one of the males.

"Our teachers and administrators are to be commended for their recognition that these people were not students and subsequent actions in keeping the building safe," Calderone said

The lockdown ended about 9 a.m.

Calls were made to parents to inform them of the lockdown.
