WARREN - Darren D. Courtney, 47, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.
He was born Jan. 12, 1965, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph Henry and Dolly Elizabeth Shacklock Courtney, and had lived in Trumbull County all his life.
Darren had worked as a manager for Dinesol Plastics, and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, boating, camping and hiking.

Surviving are his fiancee, Anna M. Lewis, with whom he made his home; two sons, Jonathan Courtney of Girard and Mark Courtney of Niles; three stepdaughters, Samantha Ryhal of Boardman, Christine Ryhal of Rochester and Victoria Ryhal of Hanoverton; his siblings, sisters Robin Stears and Jennifer Brazil, both of Girard, brother Earl Courtney of Alliance, sister Jennifer Marshall of Austintown, and brothers Warren and Vernon Courtney, both of Coshocton, and Curtis Courtney of Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Juanita Matthews; and a brother, Joseph Courtney.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, with Robin Stears, Darren's sister, conducting the service. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
