Global warming:?Candidates’ credibility is an issue in debate

DEAR EDITOR:

I have been a subscriber to international media icon National Geographic for decades. For years now they have done an excellent job of predicting and explaining man-made global warming, its effect on the planet now and what probably will happen in the future. Truly they are probably one of the most respected stewards of the planet.

Now Josh Mandel, Paul Ryan and, to a lesser extent, Mitt Romney have been questioning the global warming itself, let alone whether it is mostly man-made or not. This scenario reminds me of a person going to a lawyer asking for medical advice.

Unfortunately this problem goes deeper than that, I believe. I truly feel that Josh Mandel, Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney have so deeply prostituted themselves to the fossil fuel industry that now the credibility factor will come into question every time they open their mouths. With total disregard for scientific fact I know of no other reason why they would refute global warming.
