WASHINGTONVILLE - Charles E. Quinby, 69, died at 4:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Salem Community Hospital following a year-long illness.
Mr. Quinby was born Dec. 25, 1942, in Warren, the son of Harry and Marguerite Sherlock Quinby, and had lived in the area most of his life.
Charles worked at GM Lordstown for 33 1/2 years, retiring in 2000. He served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, the former Cindy Bell, whom he married July 16, 2005; a son, Kevin (Heather) Quinby of Warren; a sister, Judith (Henry) Cole of Lakeworth, Fla.; a brother, Harry (Sandy) Quinby of Southington; and three grandchildren, Charles Quinby, Bradey Quinby and Brandon Warnock.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Molly Quinby.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia.
Woods-Rettig Funeral Home in Leetonia handled the arrangements.
