LOCAL 880 RETIREES TO MEET: UFCW Local 880 Retirees will hold their 25th anniversary celebration luncheon at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cafe 422 in Warren. Those attending are asked to make reservations by calling 330-544-5656 or 330-788-2181.

GRANDMA DEE DEE COLLECTS TEDDY BEARS: ''Grandma Dee Dee,'' 81, a former resident at Windsor House at Omni Manor Health Care Center, Youngstown, initiated a drive to collect new and used teddy bears to distribute to seniors in nursing homes throughout Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

Teddy bear donations can be dropped off at the skilled nursing facility, 3245 Vestal Road, care of the activity department, or by calling Julie Vilano, activity director, at 330-793-5648.

SOAR 2243 TO MEET: The retirees of Local 2243 USWA Copperweld steel Co. (SOAR Chapter 1-28-10) will hold their regular monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Local 1375 Union hall, 684 North Park Ave., Warren. Guest speaker will be Guido Jannetti, representative of the Mahoning Valley American Red Cross. Refreshments will be served.

BUILDING PRODUCTS RETIREES TO MEET: Niles Building Products Retirees meet the second Wednesday of each month at Scenna's Restaurant, 1901 N. State St., Niles.

NILES RETIRED TEACHERS TO MEET: Niles Retired Teachers will now meet on every second Thursday of the month. All retired teachers are welcome. The next meeting is 11:30 a.m. Oct. 11 at the 422 Restaurant.

VALLEY LEGACY LUNCHEON SET: Nominees for this year's Valley Legacy Awards will be honored and award recipients announced at the Valley Legacy Awards Luncheon on Thursday at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, Canfield. Invitations are available.

The TRUMBULL COUNTY NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs and operates nutrition sites at 11 locations throughout Trumbull County. These sites provide a meal and the opportunity for socialization. Donations will be accepted.

Any senior citizen 60 and older and his or her spouse are welcome for lunch at any of the following sites:

FOWLER-VIENNA SENIOR CITIZENS: The group meets 9:30 a.m. or later every Thursday at the Fowler Community Center to play cards and games, to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, and for a 50-50 raffle and meals. Special meals are served on the fourth Thursday of the month. Cost is $3 each. All those 55 or older are welcome. Annual dues are $12.

LORDSTOWN SCOPE

The Center is hosting a Pork Chop fund raiser dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20. Cost is $9.

No HMHP Healthy check-up the month of October. Free flu shots Oct. 23. Must be pre-registered. From 10 a.m. to noon.

THE KINSMAN SENIOR CITIZEN NUTRITION SITE is open every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to seniors 60 or older or their spouses. Meals are served about noon at the Kinsman Fire Hall and donations are accepted. Doors open at 10 a.m. For information on meals, call site manager Dollie Davis at 330-876-5123.

Cards and bingo are played every day and singing is on Wednesdays. To attend, call Davis two days prior.

JOHNSTON SENIOR CENTER

5922 Warren Road, Cortland, 330-924-0412. Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Membership is $12 a year. Puzzles, games and coffee bar are available daily.

WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY: noon, nutrition program lunch, and quilting, cards and crafts.

Weight Watchers - Doors open at 5 p.m. with meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

Donations are being accepted for an October yard sale. Participants should mark their asking price on articles being donated for the sale. Donations will be accepted on Oct. 12 or 15.
