Carlyle W. Davis 1923-2012

KINSMAN - Carlyle Wilmer Davis, 89, formerly of Kinsman, passed away Monday night, Oct. 1, 2012, at the Manor at Autumn Hills.

He was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Greene, the son of Lewis and Mary Noble Davis.

He was a retired electrician for IBEW 17 in Sharon, Pa., after working 60 years. He also operated a small farm.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

He was a Christian who walked the walk.

He enjoyed gardening, coon hunting when younger and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Wells Davis, whom he married June 6, 1947; three daughters, Joyce (Otis) Taylor of Johnston, Judith (Jerry) Wells of Pittsburgh and Karen (Leo) Lynagh of Geneva; two sons, Ronald Davis of Brookfield and Terry (Linda) Davis of Johnston; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Martindale of Gustavus, Sally Bingle of Fombell, Pa., and Thelma Alborne of Akron; and a brother, Miland (Laura) Davis of Hartford.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Allen and Leonard Davis.

There will be a time of gathering from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the Hartford United Methodist Church, 6846 state Route 305, Hartford. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local hospice or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.

Services were entrusted to Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, Hartford.
