NILES - Joseph M. "Gee Gee" Santangelo Sr., 61, passed way Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Autumn Hills Care Center following an extended illness.
Joseph was born June 13, 1951, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph P. "Yogi" and Lucia A. Santangelo.
Joseph retired in 2004 from Lordstown General Motors Assembly Plant as an assembler in the body and trim department.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and Local 1112.
Joseph enjoyed cooking and spending time with his granddaughter.
Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by three children, Keith (Lisa) Santangelo-Mosca of Rhode Island, Jacqueline Santangelo of Girard and Joseph M. Santangelo Jr. of Campbell; two grandchildren, Anthony John and Gianna; three brothers, John A. Santangelo of Niles, Vincent A. (Sharon) Santangelo of Champion and Edward L. (Darlene) Santangelo of Niles; and a sister, Vanessa A. (Ron) Clark of Niles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private services were held Tuesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel.
Burial was in Niles City Cemetery.
