Trinity Lutheran Church's quilt group has been busy making special quilts for those in need both locally and worldwide.
Bonnie Hoso, a member of the group, said it was started six years ago when the women of the Niles church started to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
The quilts are shipped to disaster areas. Some have gone to Third World countries and some have stayed in the United States.

''The quilts go to wherever there is a need,'' Hoso said.
Four women started the group, who began meeting once a month for six months. More women joined and now there are eight who meet twice a month to sew and cut materials and put together the quilts.
Hoso said several of the women live at the Central Park Apartments and cut squares. Two women from Trinity Lutheran Girard also take part.
Hoso said baby quilts were made for Akron-Beeghly Hospital. Quilts have also been given to the Warren Family Mission and to families who moved from the area to Florida who were in need this past winter.
'This year, baby and children's blankets will go to Someplace Safe,'' she said.
To date, more than 70 quilts have been made. Displays have been made for churches.
The quilts are taken to Grace Lutheran Church in Austintown by truck and delivered to New Windsor, Md., where the Lutheran World Relief headquarters is located. When there is a disaster they are flown or shipped to that area.
Also shipped were 25 school kits, including backpacks, rulers, crayons, construction paper and more. A large wash tub full of bar soap was added to the necessities.
