Sunday crash sends drivers to hospital
BOARDMAN - A two-vehicle accident here Sunday sent two people to an area hospital.
According to the Canfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash involved Richard Wilson, 21, of Poland, who was driving a 2011 Nissan, and Sandra Gonzales, 49, of Youngstown, who was driving a 1997 Nissan.
Both were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Both drivers were cited with failure to yield.
Candidates forum set for Maplewood
MECCA - Maplewood High School's senior government class, in conjunction with the Trumbull County Trustee Association, will hold a candidates night at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Maplewood High School, 2414 Greenville Road.
Candidates will speak and answer questions from the audience. All candidates throughout the county are invited. Those planning to attend are asked to call the school at 330-637-8466.
Tribune Chronicle editors head to Cortland
CORTLAND - The next stop in a yearlong series of gatherings to allow the public to meet the editors of the Tribune Chronicle is scheduled for Oct. 9 in Cortland.
Readers are invited to ask questions and make suggestions at the event, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Cortland Branch Library, 578 Lakeview Drive.
Scheduled to attend are Tribune Chronicle publisher Charles Jarvis; general manager Len Blose; editor Frank Robinson; managing editor Guy Coviello; business editor Brenda Linert; features editor Mary Beth Wyko; humor columnist and assistant metro editor Burton Cole; entertainment writer Andy Gray; Browns beat reporter Mike McLain; and community news reporter Bob Coupland.
Light refreshments will be served. The monthly sessions are being coordinated as part of the Tribune Chronicle's bicentennial celebration.
The next Meet the Editors event is planned for Nov. 20 in Weathersfield.
