RAYMOND, Miss. - Virginia May "Ginny" Saltzman, 87, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Riggs Manor Retirement Community, Raymond, where she resided for the past four years.
Virginia was born May 6, 1925, in Warren.
She received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Youngstown University and earned her master's degree in the mid-1970s. She began teaching for the Champion Elementary and Central Schools in Champion in 1962 and retired in 1986. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church and a former member of Alta Woods Presbyterian Church.
She and her late husband, Wilford "Bill" Saltzman, were married 64 years and spent their retirement years living in Naples, Fla., and in the Jackson, Miss., area. A son, Gary Saltzman of Warren; and a brother, Frank Rowan of Champion also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Ronald (Joyce) Saltzman of Terry, Miss.; grandchildren, David Saltzman of Raymond, Steven (Jennifer) Saltzman of Charlotte, N.C., Heather McCurdy of Colorado and Gary Sean Saltzman of Warren; six great-grandchildren, Kristen, Justin and Lauren Saltzman of Brandon, Miss., Nathan and Ryan Saltzman of Charlotte and Megan McCurdy of Colorado; and a sister, Gloria Goldner of Champion.
Services will be held in the chapel of Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m.
